Our Campus

One way to get a feel for the school and the community here is to visit our 70-acre campus for yourself.

From the academic departments to the facilities and grounds, there’s a lot to take in, but we’re confident that you’ll like what you see.

The Grounds

All contained within a single campus, we’re hugely fortunate to have such easy access to these features. Not only can pupils travel quickly between lessons, they can easily make the most of what Dollar itself has to offer and the many virtues of the Academy’s surrounding area.

Our Library

Situated in the heart of the Playfair Building, the Library provides our pupils with a calm and inspiring place for independent study, reading lessons and co-curricular clubs.

It houses over 9,000 fiction and non-fiction books, alongside daily newspapers, magazines, an eBook and audiobook library and digital subscriptions, such as JSTOR and the TLS.

Our Sports Facilities

Sport is a big part of life here at Dollar. That’s why we have both both grass and all-weather playing surfaces. Meanwhile the Ochil Hills that rise up behind the school offer a fantastic opportunity for pupils to become immersed in the wilderness. Indoor activities are catered for too, of course, and we have a fitness suite, Strength and Conditioning room, swimming pool, rifle range, cricket nets, gym and two sports halls.

Travel to Dollar

By Air

Whilst we may call the green open spaces of Dollar home, Scotland’s major cities and their airports are within easy reach. The school is just 45 minutes’ drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow International Airports, with dozens of direct flights each day to Europe, the US and the Middle east.

By Car

Dollar is easily accessible by road from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fife, Stirling, Dunblane and Perth. Once in Dollar, approach the school by turning off the A91 onto Mylne Avenue and through the main gate. Parking is available to the front of the Playfair building and in the car park on Mylne Avenue.

Please note parents and pupils are not permitted to enter the school grounds by car during drop-off and pick-up times.

By Bus

There is an extensive network of school buses and coaches bringing pupils into school along routes from Aberdour, Auchterarder, Alloa, Bannockburn, Bridge of Allan, Dunblane, Dunfermline, Falkirk, Glenrothes, Hillfoots, Linlithgow, Limekilns, Perth, and Stirling. On all routes, there are ‘morning buses/coaches’, which arrive at Dollar in time for Senior School registration. ‘Afternoon buses/coaches’ leave after the school day has finished at 3:25pm, and ‘late buses/coaches’ leave from 5:15pm, allowing pupils to participate in after-school activities.

Our school buses/coaches are a mixture of public routes and privately hired vehicles.
