Support Bursaries at Dollar

At Dollar Academy, widening access and encouraging a diverse and inclusive pupil population is key to our thinking and development.

Through our bursary scheme, we reach out to families to offer what can be a transformational educational experience for a child.

Our bursary awards, for children entering Form 1, are means-tested and are targeted towards those in greatest financial need.

Awards may cover the full tuition fee or part of it, depending on financial circumstances.

A full 6-year bursary costs around £120,000 – covering school fees, assistance with purchasing uniforms, and attendance at curricular trips and school social events.

When shared amongst many supporters over six years, £120,000 is the equivalent to:

  • 70 people donating £25 a month
  • 20 people donating £1,000 a year
  • 4 people donating £5,000 a year
  • 1 person donating £20,000 a year

Our bursary programme has already helped many individuals explore their full potential at Dollar.

Bursary Stories

As Dollar Academy’s Head Boy, Logan (FP 2025) embraced every opportunity made possible by his 100% bursary. From winning world debating championships to thriving academically, his journey shows the transformative power of accessible education.

“It’s no exaggeration to say it’s been life-changing,” Logan reflects “I never would have been able to receive this education, but I have, and I’m extraordinarily grateful for the people who decided to donate enough money to send me to this school.”

The HMC projects scholarship programme offers students from Central and Eastern Europe the opportunity to study for two years in a UK School. The programme aims to foster bonds of understanding and friendship between young people across Europe and provide an enriching experience for students. Karolina Pavlikova (FP 2022) came to Dollar in 2020 as an HMC Projects Scholar and is now Dollar’s youngest governor.

“Coming to Dollar was the opportunity for a new adventure, it changed my life.”
