At the conclusion of a remarkably competitive process, Mrs Kate MacNish has been appointed as our next Head of Prep and Junior School & Assistant Rector. She will take up the reins in August 2024.
Kate, a graduate of Dundee, Strathclyde, and Stirling universities, has a strong track record in education as both a highly effective classroom practitioner and successful headteacher – she currently leads both Kincardine-in-Menteith and Thornhill primary schools.
Attracted to the post at Dollar because of our “commitment to academic excellence and all-round development”, I am confident that Kate will build on the excellent work of Alison Morrison in a clear and collegiate way.
Reflecting on her appointment, Kate commented:
“I am thrilled to be taking up the post of Head of the Prep and Junior School in August. I cannot wait to join the team and get started. It will be a real privilege to work with such wonderful staff, children and parents in such a beautiful setting. As a former pupil, this feels like coming home.”
There will be opportunities over the coming months for pupils and parents, both current and prospective, to meet Kate, and I look forward to welcoming her back to the Academy properly in due course.
