Our Results

Here at Dollar, we know that a good education is about more than results, but we are nevertheless very proud of the achievements of our pupils.

With A grade pass rates averaging 70%, and Dollar pupils and teams participating at the highest levels in sport, music and the arts, the school provides the perfect environment for young people to thrive.

Like most schools in Scotland, Dollar Academy follows the Scottish Curriculum, administered by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

These qualifications are highly valued by universities across the UK and Europe. The system is similar, in many respects, to the English A-level system with a broad range of subjects being studied up until age 16, followed by Higher examinations in five subjects in the penultimate year and, typically, Advanced Higher examinations in three subjects in the final year.

2025 Results

Our Rector, Ian Munro spoke on our 2025 results:

I am delighted to report that our pupils have again secured some of the very best SQA results in the country:

With a record breaking number of entries at Advanced Higher level, our pupils have achieved a remarkable pass rate of 93%.

There was also an increase in the number of presentations at Higher level and the pass rate here, widely viewed as the national benchmark of academic success, is an impressive 94% with 63% of these at grade A.

Form IV achieved a well-deserved 95% pass rate in their National 5 qualifications.

Of course, away from the record-breaking headlines, the important thing when it comes to SQA results is that each pupil does their best and they achieve the highest grades of which they are capable. Whether pupils have secured a straight flush of ‘As’ or personal bests with ‘Bs’ and ‘Cs’, every single pupil is to be congratulated wholeheartedly on their efforts. We are very proud of all our pupils and what they have achieved in this year’s qualifications.

At Dollar we expect all our pupils to work hard, and we are delighted that their energy and commitment has brought such great reward. I should also like to thank my colleagues, for always covering that extra mile to support the best possible outcomes for our youngsters.
