Curling
Curling is a traditional Scottish winter sport enjoyed by people of all ages.
At Dollar Academy, the Curling Club provides pupils from Form I to Form VI with the opportunity to develop their skills, whether they are complete beginners or experienced players. The club has a strong following, with around 20 pupils regularly attending training sessions.
Facilities
Practice sessions run throughout the first two terms of the school year and take place on Tuesday afternoons at Kinross Ice Rink.
This dedicated curling facility offers an excellent environment for players to learn and refine their skills in a safe and welcoming setting.
Coaching
Training sessions are led by a team of committed volunteer coaches who focus on fostering enjoyment while ensuring that pupils develop their technique and understanding of the sport.
Dollar Academy’s curling teams compete in the Stirling schools’ league during the first term and participate in several prestigious cup competitions in Perth and at Murrayfield Ice Rink in Edinburgh.
