Join us for our Summer Tennis Camp from 30 June – 4 July 2025, 9am – 5pm.

The Summer Tennis Camp is open to all boys and girls aged 8 to 16 years old. The camp will be led by Steve Newton, Head of PE and qualified tennis coach. He will be supported by other experienced coaching staff.

The camp will focus on the development of individual skills through fun creative practices and games tailored to every playing ability.

Players can choose to either bring a packed lunch, or for an extra fee, have lunch provided by our external caterers in the dining hall. All children should bring their own snacks and drinks.

Wet weather facilities are available, however children should come with suitable clothing for all weather training. Parents can choose to book the full week or individual days to suit busy family schedules.

FAQs

  • What clothes should my child bring?

    Your child should bring clothing that will enable them to take part in all activities provided. We recommend the following:

    – Training kit –Tracksuit, shirt, shorts & socks

    – Tennis shoes if possible, but not compulsory

    – Trainers for indoor sessions

    – Tennis racket if you have your own. We will have a limited supply of rackets if your child does not have their own racket.

    – Waterproof jacket, Sunglasses, cap/sun hat & waterproof sunscreen (factor 50)

    – Water bottles

    – Notebook & pen

  • What are the drop off and pick up arrangements?

    The camp will run from 9am to 5pm each day. Children should register between 8.45am -9am each morning with the Camp Leader at the Astro. They will also be required to register again at the start of the afternoon session.

    All children must sign out of the camp at 5pm and let the Camp Leader know that they are leaving for the day. Children under 10 must be collected by a responsible adult.

  • What if my child has medical or dietary needs?

    When booking the course, you will have been asked for any medical or dietary information that we will need to know. If any of the information provided needs updating, please contact us before the course starts via summerschools@dollaracademy.org.uk.

    Any medication brought to the school will need to be documented in the provided form that will be sent out at time of enrolment. This must provide details of what the medication is and the dosage. This medication will then be handed to the Course Leader on arrival and stored centrally for security. Any prescription medication will need to be in the original container with the pharmacy label.

  • What do the children do for lunch?

    Children can either choose to bring their own packed lunch each day or, for an extra charge, choose to have lunch in our dining hall where catering is provided by our award-winning external partner Thomas Franks, who produce a wide range of healthy, locally sourced food.

    If you would like your child to have lunch provided please choose the lunch inclusive option when booking. Dietary requirements will be requested on booking and notified to Thomas Franks.

    All children should bring their own snacks and drinks. The children will be supervised during their lunch time and can refill water bottles on campus.

  • What are the rules on mobile phones and technology devices?

    Mobile phones are not to be used in any way during the sessions and will only be accessible at break times. Phones should be safely stored in kit bags and switched off or on silent. Please do not bring any valuables to the camp unless they are strictly necessary for the day ahead. Dollar Academy cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property whilst on the camp.
