Over one third of Dollar Academy pupils live locally and most will travel to school on foot. Our remaining pupils travel to school by public or private transport.

With over two centuries spent serving the educational needs of the pupils who come through our doors, we’ve created an environment where young minds can thrive.

The Dollar Academy Junior School is home to two key year groups, Junior 1 (Primary 6 equivalent) and Junior 2 (Primary 7 equivalent). Within its own bright corridors, high ceilings and spacious classrooms, our 10 and 11 year-olds have two years in which to make that crucial transition to senior school life – the Junior School provides the stepping stones!

The Dollar Academy Parents Association (DAPA) represents parents collectively and provides a forum for the exchange of ideas between the school and the parent body. The association has a presence at school events including Open Days, Sports Days and charity events, and hosts a number of social events. All parents are welcome to get involved.

Dollar offers the widest range of SQA subjects in Scotland and our super-curriculum includes modules in subjects as diverse as Microbiology, Astronomy, Philosophy and Italian along with opportunities for coding, robotics, debating, cooking and Classics.
