Whether pupils are picking up a hockey stick for the first time or they’re well on their way to becoming the next big thing internationally, hockey is a great co-curricular activity choice here at Dollar.

Dollar has one of the best rugby programmes in the UK with teams playing in the top national conference (tied 1st in 2018) and taking part in a wide variety of international events and tours. The school regularly produces internationalists and professional players, although there is rugby available for everyone, regardless of their level.

One of the most popular voluntary activities in the school is our Combined Cadet Force. Now at over 400 members strong, it’s the largest of its kind in Scotland and one of the largest in the UK. In 2022, Dollar won the UK National First Aid competition and the Scottish First Aid competition, which they have won every year since 2005.

There is a variety of support available to allow our pupils to undertake voluntary work to apply the principles they’ve learned here at Dollar. One of the best ways to create resilience in our pupils is to give them the opportunity to help others.
